too thin for a bear
too small and quite clearly
far too wretchedly beautiful
scrawny, yes, but heartwrenchingly so
it's those eyes,
dead pools of rust with slashes of untouchable black through the centre
don't look or you'll never see
again.
it's not often heard, that
tearing
growling
ripping
sarcastic snarl.
but animals don't have a sense of humor
let alone irony
right?
and the smell
choking
a cloud of overwhelm
dust and earth like something antique
and long forgoten
uncared for but most of all
that metallic sting of blood.
taste? don't be so ridiculous.
you'd never get close enough to find out.
but those teeth-
fur matted,
ragged,
ungroomed,
unimportant.
if she could speak - why would she want to?
but somehing like;
"I'm not your wolf,
I don't need protecting,
So get your sorry ass the hell out of my forest,
Or I'll break you and your stupid heart."
